Members in Our Thoughts and Prayers

Chere Hayward, Youth Court Administrator for Handcock County is expecting in January.  She is on bed rest, and will be unable to attend the Fall Conference.  Peggy Williams, Court Administrator for the Employee Appeals Board will not be able to attend the Fall Conference, due to her husband's health.  Angela Cook, Youth Court Administrator for Hinds County is on maternity leave and will not be able to attend the Fall Conference.  Please keep Chere, Peggy, Angela, and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
 

Members Retire from MSCAA
(09/26/07)
Charlotte Rodgers, Charter Member of the MSCAA, and County Court Administrator for Lauderdale County retired in May.  Harold Cooper, Youth Court Administrator for Hinds County has also retired this year.  Denita Williams, Youth Court Administrator for Harrison County has retired as well.  We wish them all the best.
 

Kevin and Tammy Adams Expecting (09/12/07)
Kevin Adams (7th Chancery Court District, Greenwood) and his wife, Tammy, announced that they are expecting.  The baby, due in March, 2008, will join brothers Justin, 15, Jonathan, 12, and Jackson, 15 months.

Members Attend NACM Conference (09/12/07)
Sherry Davis (22nd Circuit, Hazlehurst), Kevin Adams (7th Chancery, Greenwood), Demetria Jackson (Coahoma County, Clarksdale), Rachel Stanley (18th Circuit, Laurel), and Barbie Parham (10th Chancery, Hattiesburg), represented the MSCAA at the NACM Annual Conference in Chicago, in July.

The Judicial College has announced the schedule for the Fall Conference for the MSCAA. Your reservation should be made in room block code MJCJ07B.  Make reservations by Oct. 3rd.

Please Review By-laws Changes

A comprehensive revision of the Constitution has been proposed.  The bulk of the changes proposed are designed to either codify existing proceedure or clarify ambiguities in the existing constitution.  A draft of the the proposal is available here.  Please review the draft, and feel free to contact the executive committee with questions.
